Again I write about social media… and there are so many things published about it that we may find difficult to get interesting stuff on the web…
Nonetheless, I found two wonderful presentations about the subject and I wish to share them with you:

Blogging and social media: how it can help business. The part dealing with the word of mouth is quite relevant in this context.

Social Media demystified: how changing behaviors affect the way we communicate through the web.

Besides, Grady Booch on cio.com wrote a great article about the ten tips to help employees collaborate. This gives an excellent idea of what it takes to bring an organization to use efficiently what’s best about social media. Technology with a good knowledge of the employees’ social media “literacy” could boost your business!

But for now? Great technology, today as always, renders us as gods.

Me voilà rassuré !
Allez, je vous laisse, on m’appelle…

Just a few words about two studies that I found quite relevant on marketing and social media, in relation with previous posts :

SocialMedia Network’s CEO, Seth Goldstein, made a rather audacious statement at the IAB Social Media conference today: “Social Media is killing internet advertising”.

This gives a good idea of how social media change the way marketing works on the internet and how we don’t address people the same way on Facebook than on traditional websites (advertising loudness). A chart of the evolution of online advertising is quite interesting in that perspective.

Besides, an article (in French) describes how Hublot (Swiss watch brand) entered Second Life and how marketing on a virtual island is not always a success if you really didn’t think about the concept…
After a year of presence on Second Life, the journalist’s report about Hublot’s virtual position is not very positive. Obviously the watch industry’s First Life is a lot more exciting than its Second One

One last link : seven tips to succeed with advertising campaign on the web (in French)

Bonne lecture !

In English : reading Dave Gray’s blog, I found great to come back to basics about visual communication. There you can find plenty of videos and articles about that topic. You will find some of them listed below

Reading an article by George Siemens (Making Sense Of New Technologies And Media: An Opinionated Digest) I found some parts of his digest quite interesting :

Being Nomad : he reports about an article published in The Economist which asks the question about the reality of “being here” vs “being connected”. The paradox is quite interesting to read about and gives a hint of what our future could be like, and how it may change the way we talk about communication…

How much time does Web 2.0 take? : I never really thought about it but this article tries to quantify different web 2.0 activities. Maybe, I should ask myself the question after reading this : how much time can I afford communicating on the web?

The future of social networking : or how our mobile devices will help us remember distant friends or relatives

Here is also a great presentation about social networking (E-business presentation) which will be a good counterpart to the article above.

Besides, you may find the following articles quite complementary to previous posts about corporate blogging:
